Experience
Mr. Brown has over 32 years of project management related experience.  His experience includes 19 years of Department of Defense related projects and 13 years of Department of Energy related projects.  He is certified as a Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute.  While in the Navy, he served aboard 2 nuclear submarines in both the Pacific and Atlantic Fleet.  Mr. Brown has worked for four defense contractors supporting his primary focus of shipboard and aviation electronic warfare systems.  Since 1993, Mr. Brown has worked for four Management and Operations (M&O) contractors for the Department of Energy.  He has managed and supported projects in several functional areas including Decontamination & Decommissioning, Characterization, Information Technology, and Construction. Mr. Brown’s last M&O experience was with Argonne National Laboratory where he assisted in organizing the Office of Project Management.  In 2005, he joined the Office of Basic Energy Sciences (BES), where he assumed his present duties as Program Manager for the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS II) project.  He is also the Program Manager for the Linac Coherent Light Source being constructed at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center and the Advanced Light Source User Support Building being constructed at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
