Manson Benedict, 1972
For his highly effective work in the design and
construction of the first gaseous diffusion plant and
for the production of U-235, for his many imaginative
contributions to the development of the nuclear reactor,
especially the safety of its use in electricity
generation, for his exceptional service as consultant to
the government and industry, and for his outstanding
leadership in establishing a preeminent school of
nuclear engineering.
