Team Leader
Joanne
Wolfe serves as a team leader in the Financial Management
Division, Office of Science (SC-1.21).
She is responsible for budget formulation and execution
for the following Science programs:
Fusion Energy Sciences, High Energy Physics, Nuclear
Physics, Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists, and
Safeguards and Security.
Federal Career
Joanne began her federal career in 1978 at the Department
of Education where she worked as a budget analyst on a number of
federal education programs.
She served in various budget positions there until 1989
when she moved to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) as a
budget examiner in the Education Branch.
She joined the Department of Energy in the Office of
Defense Programs (DP) in 1990 and remained with DP/ National
Nuclear Security Administration for 14 years where she was
involved in all aspects of the DOE budget process, including
work with the Inertial Confinement Fusion program budget and the
National Ignition Facility construction project.
Joanne joined the Office of Science in her current
position in November 2004.
