SC Safety Program - SC Site Offices:An Office of Science (SC) Site Office, staffed by Federal employees, is assigned to each of the SC Laboratories. The Site Offices represent the single point of contact between SC and the SC Laboratories. The 10 SC Site Offices are responsible for implementing SC Headquarters safety program and policy.The SC Site Offices include Contracting Officer authority to provide direction, as needed. The Site Office staff provide oversight of the Laboratory operations and safety program. Site Office employees monitor the overall Laboratory performance to assure contractor performance is consistent with the requirements of their approved Integrated Safety management (ISM) program. Periodic reviews, audits, observance of actual work, and meetings with Laboratory Management to discuss safety practices are tools used by the Site Office to ensure that the SC Laboratories are meeting the requirements of their ISM Program. The Site Office evaluates and rates their respective Laboratory on Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) performance during the year and at the end of each year. The end-of-year evaluations are reviewed by the SC Director prior to being issued in final. An Integrated SC Support Center provides individual subject matter experts to assist the Site Offices, as needed. |
