DOE Grant No. DE-FG03-00ER82982

Amount:  $100,000

Lack of user-friendly Internet tools is limiting effective uses of DOE site centralized contaminant data.  DOE personnel working at environmental restoration sites and emergency first responders are not able to access hazardous exposure potential information in real-time and in desired format.  Proposed Internet tools will provide cost and time efficient technology for browsing of large centralized databases, informative displays, efficient download capabilities, and Internet links to related sites on hazardous waste exposure related regulations and emergency procedures.  Core technology will be developed, tested, and demonstrated on three representative DOE contaminated sites.

Commercial Applications and Other Benefits as described by the awardee:  Proposed technologies have wide scale uses for several Federal departments, private industries, and regulatory agencies.  Environmental monitoring is costly.  Proposed tools will provide efficient means for hazardous waste database browsing, evaluations, and displays of available information.
